My 'Te Taiao Tamaki' Design

This term our focus is all about helping our Whenua and Awa. In week 11, a few special students are being selected to represent our school at an Art Programme at Te Oro In Glen Innes, Auckland. There is a big big chance I will bill one of those students. There are my reasons and the design I have chosen to create.

Attitude With Tony!

WALT Reflect on previous sessions.
Yesterday we had our second Attitude Program session for 2017. The topic was 'Friendship Factor'. We were given different topics and also some warnings to watch out. Something I really enjoyed was all the ideas and tips I picked up and something I didn't really enjoy was the time phrase but apart from that I enjoyed everything!
Please leave a comment on my blog,
Many thanks.

The Kia Manawanui Stayover!

WALT Reflect on previous things we've done.
Last week the year 7 & 8 syndicate had an overnight stay.
We did this to prevent our behaviour and bonds and it worked out real good.
One thing I enjoyed was bonding with people I had never thought to be close with.
And one thing I didn't enjoy so much was that we only got to spend two days together, and I felt like we needed more time! But I had a great time.

Venn Diagram - Cultural & Scientific Knowledge

WALT identify and evaluate the main ideas of a text.

This week for reading we're learning about the difference between cultural & scientific knowledge. We read an article about both types of knowledge then we made these. One thing I enjoyed about this task was that it was easy understanding and one thing I didn't enjoy was that at first I was stuck but then I read the article over again and I got the hang of it.

Many Thanks.

The River Talks !

WALA The River Talks & The affection on our awa.

The other day me & the rest of the year 7&8 syndicate went for our annual river talks, but this year it was different. We were shown a lot of different types of performances and cultural blessings and it was really entertaining. But they really caught my eye with all the information given out. They were telling us stuff about how our awa has been polluted because of everybody littering, it is destroying our home & land. So they do these river talks to change that'. One thing I loved about the trip we went on was the way they attracted our attention. They got us thinking without us even knowing and I loves it but one thing I didn't enjoy was that  I didn't understand the cause and affect of what my actions were creating. Like for real it put thoughts into my head. But I really enjoyed the time we spent with everyone down at the Omaru River.
